Frequently Asked Questions

Is 7 days enough to see Beijing, Xi'an, and Shanghai?

Yes — 7 days is the classic timeframe for this route and covers all the essential sites. You won't have time for every attraction, but you will see the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Terracotta Army, and Shanghai Bund without feeling rushed. 10 days gives a more relaxed pace.

What is the best order for the Golden Triangle?

Beijing → Xi'an → Shanghai is the recommended direction. It follows the high-speed rail network logically and ends in Shanghai, which has the best international flight connections. Doing it in reverse is also fine.

How much does the Golden Triangle itinerary cost?

Budget: approximately $800–1,200 per person (hostels, street food, public transport). Mid-range (our package): $1,490–2,000 per person including hotels, guides, and train tickets. Luxury: $3,000–5,000+ per person with 5-star hotels and private guides throughout.

Do I need a guide for the Terracotta Army?

We strongly recommend it. The Terracotta Army site is vast and the historical context — Emperor Qin Shi Huang's obsession with immortality, the 700,000 workers who built it, the still-unexcavated tomb mound — transforms it from a collection of statues into one of humanity's most remarkable stories.
